Fourth Business Meeting of the South East Working Group on Election and Governance (SEWEG).
Theme of the Business Meeting is: Development Planning in Nigeria: The South East Zone in Perspective.
The SEWEG Business Meeting IV is convened against the backdrop of the challenges of design, coordination, and implementation of development plans in Nigeria, especially in the context of federal-state relations and relations among states in specific geo-political zones. State governments in the South East Zone are known to be unable to develop a common strategy to tackle collective development challenges confronting the region such as insecurity, de-industrialization, and unemployment. Effective development planning provides opportunity to resolve some of these problems through a coordinated approach.
The Fourth Business Meeting of the South East Working Group on Election and Governance (SEWEG) will focus on evaluating existing development planning strategies in the South East Zone in order to suggest with innovative approaches to tackling mutual development challenges in the Zone.
